Kampala Metropolitan Police today carried out a major operation in the city to get rid of suspected criminals.
The operation that lasted four hours saw a total of 424 suspected criminals arrested.
The operation was targeting criminals that have been snatching phones, handbags, necklaces and other crimes.
It was carried out in the areas of Katwe, Nsambya, Kisenyi, Old Kampala, Namirembe road, Wandegeya, Kabalagala, Jinja Road, city centre, Nakivubo channel and the surrounding areas.
“Some of the suspects we have arrested had court bails, others police Bond, these we shall immediately take them to the various Courts or police stations that need them.” Kampala metropolitan Police spokesperson said adding that they are going to screen them before processing their case files.
They are likely to appear in court tomorrow.
Police calls upon members of the public to be vigilant.
