Celebrated television news anchor Joel Ssenyonyi last week called it a quit for the Serena Hotel based NTV Uganda.
Ssenyonyi who had been at the station for over 5 years said his journey had been nothing but worthwhile.
Though he never revealed where he was heading after, our sources can reliably inform that the chocolate skinned gorgeous dude was creating more space to allow him actively participate in politics, under the People Power pressure group.
“Today was my last day to anchor news at NTV. My journey with NTV begun 5yrs ago, and it has been nothing but worthwhile. I’ve grown, gotten better, made friends (and enemies too) in the course of my work. I’ll forever be grateful to my colleagues at NTV, they’ve been my other family & I’ll always cheer them on. The 13 years I’ve spent in the media from my days at UBC-TV back in 2006 have been memorable. Thank you all for being supportive in this journey.” Joel noted.
Immediately after the announcement, people power’s Francis Zaake who doubles as Mityana Municipality’s Member of Parliament, rushed to social media and threw lines of praises.
“In a special way, we wish to thank comrade Joel Ssenyonyi formerly a news anchor on NTV for serving us diligently in the media fraternity. You served with dignity, we shall surely miss your service on TV however, we are eager to receive it wherever you will deem your devotion necessary. May God bless us.” Zaake said.
Joel is much remembered last year together with NBS Television’s Raymond Mujjuni joined the National protests against the controversial social media tax that were organized by Kyadondo East lawmaker Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu.
