Kafeero Foundation to hold Africa’s fourth industrial revolution event

Kafeero Foundation, a social enterprise organization, will hold the inaugural annual Power the Next event on 16th November at Kampala Serena Hotel to showcase Uganda’s progress in implementing Africa’s fourth industrial revolution.

The eventorganized under the theme “Connecting Business to Capital” will bring together personalities that drive Uganda and Africa’s economic growth to discuss best practices and opportunities that Africanentrepreneurs can tap into to resolve the continent’s most pressing problems like unemployment, which is currently between29.1% – 30%.

Speaking during a press briefing to announce the event, Mr. Newton Karero, theExecutive Director of Kafeero Foundation said, “Kafeero Foundation has consistently provided a platform and inspiration to help Ugandan and African young business minds to nurture their dreams and take their innovations and enterprises to the next level. This is what is needed to be done to cut down on the unemployment margin in Africa. During this event five awards and seed capital will be presented to some of the best innovative start-ups and entrepreneurs.” 

“While we aim to shape inclusive growth and shared futures in the fourth industrial revolution, our focus now is to bring together about 1,000 top marketplayers and leaders to share ideas, network, , learn and invest as a way to make this journey a reality,” he said.

Several training opportunities will be held in the run up to the event. Business owners will be trainedon how to incorporate technology into their businesses for growth and sustainability, which will take place during the preceding week from 11th -16th November, 2019 at selected locations across the five divisions of Kampala.

Mr. Newton Karera added, “This is a time to enhance Uganda’s startups through celebrating those that have been in the market for 1-4 years. The purpose of this, is to develop and support the innovation ecosystem through teaching, connecting, sharing and bonding as entrepreneurs.”

“We have also tapped into the expertise of our partners – Global Peace Foundation and Aspire Education Group to address critical topics that drive our education in Uganda. We shall be in position to present a solutions report that will detail strategies and initiatives that can improve and transform Uganda’s education system. This will be an all-round event that will look at the innovation eco-system in its entirety” he concluded.
