Presidential advisor on media matters, Tamale Mirundi, says President Museveni has already won 2021 elections with over 80 percent.
Murundi was Tuesday speaking to Bashir Kazibwe, the host of “NBS Tamale” programme where he analyses the week’s major stories.
“President Museveni has already won the 2021 elections,” Mirundi told Kazibwe saying when Ugandans go to polls, he will be waiting at the Mutukula border with Tanzania.
“For me, when they are voting, I’m always at Mutukula border. For this election [2021 elections], Museveni has already won it. He is in 80 percent win now.”
Kazibwe talked of opinion polls and reminded Mirundi that he is playing the devil’s card to make NRM relax and then let opposition win.
“Opinion polls are just stupid. Opinion polls work in societies…maybe like those in Europe,” Mirundi snapped.
He said a president who will stay long in power leaves the system to rot.
“We call it inertia. He leaves the system to rot so that he can use it to retain power,” he explained.
Mirundi said if Museveni had compensated all claimants of Luweero bush way, he wouldn’t be getting any votes from there.
“If Museveni leaves power and remains the national chairman, power would shift from the executive to the chairman of the party and the party [NRM] will be vibrant.”
