COVID 19 Crisis: Besigye Wants NSSF To Pay 20% of Savings to Its Members

Former presidential aspirant Dr. Kiiza Besigye has continued to advise government with tips on how to handle the Corona Virus epidemic that has hit the world.

According to Besigye, one of the things government has to give priority is the welfare of nationals during the tough times of the stay home quarantine.

Besigye adds that the National Social Security Fund needs to payout some percentage of members savings.

“It’s surprising that @nssfug hasn’t, as yet, rolled out a program to pay out a portion of members’ savings to afford them vital support thru the #COVID19 crisis. Isn’t this what “Social Security”, a safety net, is about?” Besigye wondered.

He adds that this is members’ money; it’s not charity! Citing that NSSF can pay only 10-20% of a member’s savings.

“If there’s any legal impediment for them to do so, Parliament can sit tomorrow and sort it out.
This is a world crisis of unprecedented proportions!” Besigye posted on his twitter handle.

This comment comes barely two days after he revealed a Ten Point Strategy government can do and its embedded in the link below.
