Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has gone beyond mere rhetoric and donated towards fighting coronavirus.
Bobi Wine Wednesday donated soap for hand washing and food supplies comprising of posho and salt to the COVID-19 response.
Bobi Wine’s donation leaves veteran opposition Dr. Kiiza Besigye on the ground as he continues defying President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s humble directive to have the food solicited by the National task force.
Cafe Javas said it was also pleased that its parent company, Mandela Group, has boosted the national Covid-19 response efforts with a donation of two brand new Toyota Hilux Pickups.
The cars were handed over to the Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana
“Our Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Venkatesh Kumar, is optimistic that the donated cars will ease the movement of Covid-19 response team.”
While receiving the donation, Prime Minister Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, applauded Mandela Group for the support, saying it has boosted their efforts towards the fight against COVID-19.
Earlier, the Minister of Health, Jane Ruth Aceng received a cash donation of UGX 20M, cooking oil and rice worth UGX 20M and mobile phones worth UGX 10M from Sinohydro Corporation Ltd to support the COVID-19 response in Uganda.
Dodta group of companies donated 10,000 face masks and 500 test kits towards the COVID-19 response.
This was received by Aceng, Moriku Joyce and Hon. Robinah Nabbanja, State Minister for Health in charge of General Duties.
