Great news reaching us indicate that newly endorsed Uganda Tourism Board ambassador and celebrated athlete Joshua Cheptegei has won the men’s 3,000m race at the 60th Golden Spike meet in Ostrava.
Cheptegei finished ahead of other competitors in the race that took him 07:33.24.
Another Ugandan athlete Oscar Chelimo finished 3rd in the race.
Cheptegei was just minutes to breaking Daniel Komen’s legendary 25-year old World Record of 7:20.67 in the same race.
Cheptegei currently holds three World Records in 5000m, 5km & 10000m. Good luck superstar.
