The Rwenzururu King Charles Wisely Mumbere Iremagoma has asked the elected leaders to focus on development and peace building in the Kingdom and the region at large as they assume their five-year term in office.
Despite their political alignments, the Omusinga said all elected leaders in Kasese District belong to the Rwenzururu Kingdom therefore urging them to ensure they respect the kingdom and the electorate. The King said the success of the political leaders lie in the hands of the local people who he said determine politicians’ fate after every five years.
In a recorded audio message that theinsider.ug received on june 1 , Omusinga Mumbere spoke against the tendencies of politicians who instead of uniting people, tend to disintegrate and derail them from developmental agendas, a situation he said retards development in Kasese District.
“Am advising you to build peace among Rwenzururu people over rwenzori region and beyond by loving each and working together as people from one clan” Omusinga said
Omusinga stressed that the political campaigning time ended and it was time for people to work for their families urging people to stop discussing political debates during working hours.
His majesty added that no one should align the Rwenzururu kingdom to any political party stressing that the cultural institution belongs to all political parties.
” As kingdom we dont have discrimination among people regardless their political parties but kingdom and the king takes you as one family beside your political parties and positions, so i urge you to work together and develop the region as one” Omusinga added
The Omusinga Charles Wisely Mumbere Iremagoma is since 2016 still taking habitant at his Muyenga-Kampala home
