Vipers open a crucial four-point lead in the UPL

The 2021-22 Ugandan Premier League season has been uber-competitive since the jump. With the season set to end, Vipers SC managed to open a crucial four-point lead with their latest win against Busoga United in the UPL title race.

As one of the most successful teams in UPL’s recent history, Vipers have been a tough team to beat. Their most recent championship was back in the 2019-20 season when they took the title in a heated race. It looks like they are on the road to securing another title in 2021-22 with their latest victory against Busoga United.

Vipers’ awesome performance against Busoga

The game started on a bad note for Vipers as Bright Anukani missed from the penalty spot. However, they managed to recover quite quickly when they were granted a free-kick. They were looking to score from the initial free-kick but Hillary Mukundane took advantage of the situation as he headed the ball into the net. It was a good result for people who picked them in their latest Bitcoin sports betting wagers as Vipers continued their torrid run.

As the first half progressed, the Venoms continued playing at a torrid pace. That was a good run for the club as they stopped any semblance of offensive firepower that Busoga wanted to play with. Vipers showcased that even if they had a rough start they can flip the switch and turn into the best team in the league.

The second half was much the same for Vipers as they dominated possession and when they didn’t have the ball, they defended their half well. That is a good sign of a solid all-around team because they scored another goal. This was courtesy of second-half substitute Paul Mucureezi who scored the second and final goal of the game. It ended at 2-0 in favour of Vipers as they took a huge leap in the title race.

Vipers are the favourite to win the UPL title now

With this win, it is fair to say that Vipers are the favourite to win the UPL title now. It was a tough road for the team but they managed to prove themselves at the highest level of Ugandan football. Winning a league is always a tough task but the obstacles they had to go through was rough considering that they had to overcome injuries and a tough schedule with the Ugandan Cup in the background as well.

It also helps that Vipers have a solid fan base. They have a 25,000-capacity  stadium which is a good development for the sport. Football is popular in Uganda and teams like Vipers are significant for the growth of the sport in the country. This also matters because Uganda is a growing market across many areas including sports.

Their success can be largely attributed to the well-rounded system that they employ. They use a defensive style that likes to throw around tackles but they are also phenomenal on the attack. They employed a counter-attacking style which is beneficial to the Ugandan style since they love to move and score from that. Set-pieces were also an integral part of Vipers’ offence as was showcased in the match against Busoga.

If you’re looking for another Bitcoin sports betting favourite in the future of the UPL, you should use Vipers as a team to base success on because they are a fantastic team that works well in the Ugandan system.
