National Unity Spokesperson, Joel Senyonyi has said it’s not surprising that Andrew Ojok Oulanyah won the election. He says the moment they saw Nabbanja in Omoro, they knew NRM had already won. Apparently, every time Nabbanja is in the area, money is going to be spent in favor of the ruling party.
“Whenever you see Robinah Nabbanja involved in an election, know she has gone to distribute money. We saw what she did in Kayunga. When we saw her in Omoro, we knew what she was up to. I have nothing against Andrew Ojok Oulanyah, I have actually not met him, but things should be done right. That should be the concern of all of us,” he added.
Joel Senyonyi said this after EC announced Andrew as the winner of the by-election in Omoro.
Andrew came first with 14,224 votes, NUP’s Toolit had 1,633 votes. In third place and fourth place was Terence with 532 votes and Justine with 529, independent and FDC respectively.
Independent Onen Jimmy had 88 votes in fifth place and ANT’s Kizza had 63 votes in last place.
Meanwhile, Senyonyi says their agents were arrested the previous night with no cause whatsoever so he can’t guarantee the fairness of the election.
“Our agents and election supervisors began to be arrested last night and are still behind bars. I can assure you that by the close of business tomorrow, they will be set free with no charge. The plan was to get them out of circulation so that the State does what it wants.”
