President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has this afternoon made a cabinet reshuffle.
In a communication made via his official twitter handle, Museveni appointed the Democratic Party President Hon. Norbert Mao as Justice and Constitutional affairs, a position that has been vacant since 2021.
He also named former sports Minister Hamson Obua to serve as the government Chief Whip replace Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa who is currently the Deputy Speaker of Parliament.
Hon. Peter Ogwang has also been moved from position of Economic Monitoring to the State Minister for Education.
“By virtue of the authority conferred on the President by Articles 113(1) and 114 (1) of the 1995 constitution of the Republic of Uganda, I hereby appoint persons below as Cabinet Ministers and Ministers of State.” Museveni’s tweet reads.
These changes come barely one day after the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and the Democratic Party (DP) signed an MoU of working together for the betterment of Uganda.
