As the curtains fall on 2022, MTN Uganda has announced its sponsorship of a series of events to be held across the country as we cross over to the new year. The announcement was made today, in a press conference held at the MTN headquarters in Kampala.
Speaking at the sponsorship announcement press conference, Mildred Nsinda, MTN Uganda’s Trade Manager said that MTN’s support towards the end-of-year festivities is its way of giving back to Ugandans for their love and support towards MTN which recently hit the 17 million customer milestone, reinforcing its position as the leading Telecom in the country.
“MTN has over the years sponsored various festivities. This year, particularly after two difficult years of the Covid19 pandemic, MTN is happy to extend its support to a number of events to enable its customers end this year and begin the next year in their preferred way. We thank the organizers of these events for choosing MTN as the right partner. We are happy for what we have achieved this year and we hope to even do more together next year,” said Nsinda.
Following a 2-year covid-19 lockdown, MTN has gone all out and is supporting a number of events to enable more people to celebrate the end of this year as they usher in another.
The events that MTN is sponsoring include the end-of-year Passover festival by Pastor. Dr. Joseph Serwadda set to happen on the 31st of December at Kyambogo University Grounds and the Kingdom media end-of-year National Prayer Day led by Bishop. David Livingstone Kiganda happening on the same day in Old Kampala.
Pr. Serwadda, the founder of the Passover Festival thanked MTN for its continued support towards the event.
“We started the Passover festival in 2002 and this will be our 21st congregation. So far, MTN has sponsored us for 13 consecutive years. We say thank you to MTN for all these years of support even when things have been hard. For MTN to sponsor the Passover Festival and Pastor Kiganda’s National Prayer Day shows that there is favor and power in what we do, and we thank God for that,” Pr. Serwadda said.
Bishop Kiganda hailed MTN for always supporting the National prayer Day among other religious events.
“This support from MTN goes to show that the company cares how Ugandans end the year and welcome another. There is no better way of ending the year and starting the year with prayer in the presence of God,” Bishop Kiganda said, expressing his gratitude to the Ugandans who have continuously turned up for the National Prayer Day as well as the Passover event.
Apart from the religious events, MTN has also injected cash support into another set of end-of-year and New year festivities across the country such as the Radio 4 UG Mix Party happening at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala, the Central Broadcasting Services’ Enkuuka celebrations in Kampala at (Bulange-Mengo), the Resort Beach End of year party in Entebbe, the Tooro Kingdom end of year party in Fort Portal City.
