The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has launched activities leading to the long awaited Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE).
The Pearl of Africa Tourism Expo is East Africa’s tourism signature event that brings together tourism stakeholders to one ideal meeting place to meet and network with exhibitors, buyers, investors and suppliers of services in the tourism sector from all over the world.
Speaking to journalists on Monday morning in Kampala, the UTB Chief Executive Officer Lilly Ajarova said this year’s festivities will unmask Uganda’s hidden gems.
This year’s event running from 26th -29th April 2023 be the first physical Tourism Expo since Covid-19 pandemic broke up.
“POATE will held at Commonwealth Resort Munyonyo and its at this time that I’m calling upon all tourism stakeholders both domestic, regional and international to come at take part in this prestigious event.” Lilly Ajarova said adding that the country will also host over 100 international buyers from key market sources.
Ajarova also revealed that the expo will be yet another opportunity for Uganda to showcase her potential to host Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE).
“It will offer an opportunity for Uganda to show her potential to host international conferences, meetings, events like the Non-Aligned Movement meeting, G77 that are all coming up.”
