Members of the Parliamentary Committee on Trade, Tourism and Industry have been amaized by the works being done towards enhancing and developing tourism sites in the country.
This comment was made during the just concluded visit and inspection of some tourism sites plus ongoing construction of Tourism Projects in Western Uganda, running from 8th to 10th February 2024.
This is majorly aimed at monitoring, evaluating and acquainting themselves with the developments plus challenges faced by the tourism Sector.
The 3 day activity was coordinated by the Ministry of Tourism Wildlife and Antiquities (MTWA), her Agencies, Departments and other implementing partners who thoroughly explained to the makers on the strides being made.
Some of the projects and sites to be visited include; Mugaba Palace, The Biharwe Eclipse Monument, L.Mburo National Park, Igongo Cultural Center, Kitagata Hot springs, Uganda Wildlife Research and Training Institute plus ongoing developments at Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The committee led by their Chairperson Hon. Mwine Mpaka and accompanied by State Minister Hon. Martin Bahinduka Mugarra, UWA ED Sam Mwandha and MTWA technical team made a brief stopover at CTC Conservation Center in Butambala to appreciate their achievements and challenges.
They later proceeded to Mbarara and took time to inspect the ongoing construction developments at Mugaba Palace.
