The Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has criticized the politicization of the fight against corruption.
Ssenyonyi made the remarks at Lukaya Parish Church in Kalungu District during the silver jubilee celebrations that were led by his Lordship, the Bishop of Masaka Diocese, Serverus Jjumba.
According to Ssenyonyi, the public is missing out on desired service delivery, like good roads and health facilities, due to a few selfish and corrupt individuals.
“My core mandate is to keep the government in check, and that’s why I don’t fear telling Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja that things have gone out of hand.”
According to Ssenyonyi, it is very disheartening that the very leaders who earn huge salaries and allowances are the ones embezzling tax payers money.
“Let us not politicise the fight against corruption because it’s a national concern affecting service delivery.”The leader of Opposition In Parliament Joel Ssenyonyi has criticised politicising the fight against corruption.
