Journalist turned rapper Timothy Code (R) pose for a photo with some of the winners after hyping the crowds with old school hip-hop jams.

Revellers welcomed the Easter holiday in sytle; with a nostalgic feeling that took them back to the oldies at the Reminisce event held at Kati Kati, Lugogo.

Being the eighth in series, the Reminisce is a brainchild of Robert Victor Nsibirwa and Prisca Mutesi, whose dreams of captivating Ugandans with the old school feel got birthed in 2021.

“The Reminisce is an experiential event, which brings together lovers of old-school culture to enjoy the good music all the way from the 1960’s to early 90’s as they catch up with friends while enjoying a variety of eats and drinks,”Nsibirwa said.

Launched at Cayenne bar in 2021, the Reminisce has since grown into an event that runs three times a year, spiced up by attendance from revellers who showcase their throwback fashion, while matching up to the theme.

“Our next edition will be in August while another will run in December. We always keep the theme simple; everything is old school. We call it the grown-up’s playground,”Nsibirwa added.

The latest edition was enjoyed with a blend of music and entertainment featuring Rasta Rob MC, DJ Ssesse, DJ Moze, Selects Dee and DJ Gero.

According to Mutesi, the Reminisce is getting bigger while enjoying partnership and support from Next Media, 7Up and Stanbic Bank’s FlexiPay.

To spice up the event, revellers were treated to a happy-hour where discounts were awarded to those who paid using FlexiPay.

Beers saw a discount of 3,000, Spirits and whiskeys had a cut of 15,000 while snacks got a reduction of 5,000. There were also two lucky winners of headphones after instantly activating and making various transactions FlexiPay.

In a related development, FlexiPay treated revellers to a great deal of discounts during the premier of the Godzilla X Kong movie premier, at Acacia Mall recently.

Curtain-raised with a cocktail treat marked with a red carpet session at 4:00pm, fans enjoyed the event with 3D glasses hired at a fee of UGX8000 while snacking away at free popcorn.

Dubbed ‘FlexiPay Cinema Fridays,’ the promotion happens every Friday at all Century Cinemax locations including; Acacia mall in Kololo, Metroplex in Naalya and Arena mall in Nsambya.
