A man in Nakapirpirit district is currently hospitalised in critical condition at Tokora Health Center IV after being severely beaten into a coma when he made advances towards a woman.
Joseph Aleper, a 30-year-old resident of Acherer Trading Center in Moruita Sub County, encountered trouble on Thursday afternoon when he propositioned a woman named Everline Napakol, also a resident of the area, for sexual relations.
Allegedly, Napakol rejected his advances, leading to a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation.
During the altercation, Benna Akol, a friend of Napakol, joined the fight and assaulted Aleper, resulting in him falling into a coma due to the severity of the beating.
Michael Longole, the Mount Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident, stating that the police were promptly informed and intervened in the matter.
Longole mentioned that a team of detectives visited the crime scene and apprehended the two women, who now face charges of attempted murder.
Longole emphasized the seriousness of the victim’s condition, as he was rushed to Tokora Health Center IV for urgent medical attention. “We urge the public to refrain from engaging in mob justice, as it is illegal. Resolving conflicts through legal channels is the most appropriate course of action,” warned Longole.”
