Today, His Lordship, Rt. Rev. Raphael P’mony Wokorach, the Bishop of Nebbi district has blessed the URA workers as he made a courtesy visit to the Commissioner General, Mr Musinguzi Rujoki at URA Towers, Nakawa.
Rt. Rev. Raphael P’mony Wokorach challenged the URA team to carry out their duties effectively to benefit Uganda.
He encouraged the URA faithful to seek God’s guidance and stay strong in prayer acknowledging that tax collection is a challenging job.
This comes when URA faces stiff resistance from city traders who have vowed not to join the EFRIS system.
Over the weekend, the matter was handled by President Museveni who requested the traders to suspend their strike as the issues raised are being resolved.
In his remarks, the URA Commissioner General, Mr Musinguzi Rujoki expressed gratitude to the Bishop for his visit and congratulated him on his recent appointment as the Archbishop of Gulu Archdiocese.
On the upcoming Martyrs Day celebrations, Musinguzi said, “This is something we are happily associated with and celebrate because URA looks up to those martyrs for the spirit and dedication to die for the truth and God rather than giving up.”
“This is what we want to inculcate in our staff so that they serve with integrity rather than compromise,” he continued.
Later in the day, the Bishop led the URA faithful in a mass.
