If you are familiar with most digital platforms, Edwin Karugire’s video clip narrating his first meeting with his father law (President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni) is something that never grows old.
Clipped from the speech made during Museveni’s golden jubilee celebrations, Karugire reveals how he sweated and massively got marinated the moment president grilled him regarding his interests in first daughter Natasha Museveni Karugire.
“I never found any big problem until the day I was required to meet the father of the girl I was to marry. And as you all know, it can be a daunting task because I was the first intruder into his home. But I wasn’t afraid. Because after all, he was my father too and he was the father of our generation.” Karugire narrates disclosing that the appointed day happened at Nakasero State House where he found the president in the living room with Natasha and Mama Janet Museveni.
The learned friend said revealed that Mama Janet’s presence was a very good sign for him and Safety basing on the numbers.
Karugire added that the strange things started to happen the moment Natasha and mama left the room.
“I was very confident but when Natasha and mama left the room, I was left alone with our father (President Museveni) who was watching World War II documentary in silence. But luckily I had practiced by presentation. I had my script memorized. So I started talking. But he signaled and told me to first be quiet as he watched the documentary on television. That was when I started sweating. So after the longest 30 minutes of my life, during which the bullets were the document or the bullets bombs, I felt like it was me being attacked and marinated sufficiently.” He said.
“He asked me, do you drink alcohol? So by this time, I was incoherent dehydrated. So I gave him all the possible answers at once. Just said something like I don’t. I used to but I’m stopping, then he told me how drinking alcohol makes someone unconscious and he’s never been unconscious.”
He said in this way he is strong adding that he’s even stronger than me. And then he graciously invited me to fight him if I doubt him what but I politely declined.
