Eva Mpalampa, the Head for Oil and Gas at Stanbic Bank Uganda limited was recently recognized for remarkable contribution to development and growth of the energy sector, in the 20 under 40 category.
This happened during the recently concluded 9th edition of Oil and Gas Convention at the Kampala Serena Hotel, running under the theme “The Journey to First Oil In The Face Of a Just Energy Transition In Uganda.”
The convention was organized by Uganda Chamber of Mines and Petroleum (UCMP) in partnership with the Women in Energy and Extractives Network (WEEN), Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) among other stakeholders.
While handing over the award, Earnest Rubondo, the Chief Executive officer of the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU) hailed Mpalampa doing a tremendous job in advancing diversity, gender equality and inclusion in the oil and gas sector.
Mpalampa expressed her sincere gratitude to the management of Stanbic Bank Uganda for giving her opportunity to learn and serve our motherland Uganda.
She noted that as a founding member of the Women in Energy and Extractives Network (WEEN), they are currently working towards creating a platform where women can connect, learn and collaborate.
“Today I’m so happy that my hard work has been recognized and of course paid off. My zeal and passion is derived from our Purpose statement, ‘Uganda is our home; we drive her growth.’ This powerful line keeps me my workmates going, thus the success we are seeing here today.” Mpalampa said adding that as the Head of the Oil and Gas/Energy and Extractives, she is going to continue rendering exemplary leadership and innovation in navigating the complexities of this burgeoning industry.
