Uganda is set to embark on a groundbreaking journey towards a double-digit economic growth trajectory with the launch of its highly-anticipated National Development Plan IV (NDP IV).
The strategic roadmap, unveiled by the Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development, aims to propel the nation towards a more prosperous and inclusive future by prioritizing sustainable economic diversification and innovation.
Echoing the vision of His Excellency, who envisions a ten-fold increase in the economy by 2039, State Minister for Finance Amos Lugoloobi emphasized the transformative and inclusive nature of NDP IV.
Building on past successes and recognizing the need to move beyond traditional sectors, the plan sets its sights on key growth areas such as mineral extraction, oil and gas industries, and tourism development.
Moreover, NDP IV aligns closely with Uganda’s Vision 2040 and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, underscoring the country’s commitment to achieving long-term development objectives and addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change.
With a focus on leveraging technology and enhancing resource allocation through innovative measures like Indicative Planning Figures (IPFs), the government aims to maximize the impact of limited funds and drive strategic investments in critical national projects.
As Uganda gears up for a new era of growth and progress, NDP IV stands as a testament to the country’s determination to chart a sustainable path towards economic prosperity and inclusive development.
