President Museveni has emphasized that the newly passed out cadet officers should desist from corruption.
He said this yesterday as he commissioned 774 officer cadets at the Basic Military Training School in Kaweweta.
“Today, I commissioned 774 officer cadets at the Basic Military Training School in Kaweweta. I congratulate the new officers on their successful completion of training,” said the president.
He added “I am glad that they were exposed to the combined elements of warfare so that they get a good preliminary exposure to fighting.
“In the past, they used to separate phases of training but when we discussed, we decided that at an early stage, the officer should be exposed to the multidimensional nature of warfare.
“As the CDF, Gen Muhoozi emphasized, these young graduates should not view the army as just a career job “Kazi” but a responsibility “wajibu” to defend our nation.
“Finally, on the issue of corruption, I urge the officers to desist from being corrupt, you must not tolerate it.”
The President said the commissioned officers were taken through a tough course and were exposed to the combined elements of warfare so that they get a good preliminary exposure to fighting.
