MTN Mobile Money (U) Limited (MTN MoMo) has announced a contribution of UGX 55 million to support Ekisaakaate Kya Nnabagereka 2025, reinforcing its commitment to empowering Ugandan youth and preserving cultural heritage through technology.

MTN MoMo Managing Director Richard Yego said that MTN MoMo had a shared commitment with the Nnabagereka Development Foundation to create positive change and empower communities in Uganda.
“This collaboration goes beyond mere sponsorship; it is a shared vision of empowering the next generation,” Yego said.
Reflecting on the 17th Ekisaakaate held earlier this year, Yego emphasized MTN MoMo’s contributions.
“We provided ICT services and technical expertise to teach participants how to code. This initiative was designed to ignite a passion for technology and equip the youth with crucial digital skills, preparing them for a future where technology is integral to every aspect of life.”
MTN MoMo’s involvement in Ekisaakaate aligns with its broader mission to leverage technology for social and economic development.
“At MTN MoMo, technology has revolutionized the way we live, work, and interact. We are at the forefront of digital transformation, providing innovative solutions that enhance financial inclusion and empower communities. We have enabled millions to access financial services, facilitating secure transactions, savings, and investments with ease,” Yego added.
Yego also highlighted the importance of integrating technology with cultural heritage.
“By integrating technology with our rich cultural heritage, we are not only preserving traditions but also ensuring that they evolve and remain relevant in the digital age. Financial literacy programs, supported by MTN MoMo, teach young people how to manage money, save for the future, and invest in their communities.”
Looking ahead to Ekisaakaate 2025, Yego reaffirmed MTN MoMo’s commitment to the partnership with the Nnabagereka Development Foundation.
“We aim to build a sustainable and impactful partnership to foster growth and development in our communities,” he said.
