Commissioner of Parliament Hon. Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba has paid tribute to the party’s deceased Deputy President, Jolly Mugisha 61, with a heartfelt condolence message.
Mpuuga described Mugisha’s passing as “shocking and saddening,” praising her tireless work ethic and unwavering dedication to the party’s ideals.
In his message, Mpuuga reflected on his time working closely with Mugisha during NUP’s formative days, admiring her zeal to work tirelessly even in challenging situations. Citing that beyond her role in NUP, Mugisha served as Chairperson of the National Consultative Forum, championing a Uganda that works for all.
Mpuuga further noted that Mugisha’s invaluable contributions to promoting constitutionalism, the rule of law, and good governance.
“Her absence will be deeply felt, and Mpuuga prayed that the Good Lord comforts the bereaved family, her comrades in the party, and the nation at large. Mugisha’s legacy will continue to inspire Ugandans, and her dedication to the country’s progress will not be forgotten. The nation joins Mpuuga in mourning the loss of this remarkable leader.” Mpuuga said.
Jolly’s death was confirmed in a post by party president Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine via his official account on X platform saying the former NRM cadre breathed her last on Monday afternoon from Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where she had been admitted in a coma for several weeks.
“It’s with great sadness that I announce the passing of Hon. Jolly Mugisha, the National Unity Platform Deputy President for Western Uganda. Mama Jolly has passed on this afternoon from Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital where she has been admitted in a coma for several weeks,” Bobi, who formerly contested for president in the 2021 elections posted.
