The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted the first-ever qualified health claim for yoghurt, acknowledging its potential role in reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes.
According to the FDA’s research, consuming at least two cups of yoghurt per week may lower the risk of developing type 2 diabetes. This finding has been welcomed by Fresh Dairy, a leading dairy brand in East and Central Africa.
“We’re thrilled about the FDA’s findings, which reinforce our commitment to producing high-quality dairy products that positively impact people’s lives and health,” said Vincent Omoth, Marketing Manager at Fresh Dairy.
In response to the FDA’s endorsement, Fresh Dairy has unveiled a new awareness campaign dubbed ‘Yoghurt4Better’. The initiative aims to educate consumers about the numerous health benefits of consuming Fresh Dairy flavoured yoghurt, which is rich in essential nutrients like energy, carbohydrates, protein, fat, and calcium.
The #Yoghurt4Better campaign highlights various benefits of yoghurt consumption, including:
