The Uncut Awards, an official end of year show has bounced back with more venom and chillies.
This last show recognizes outstanding achievements in the entertainment industry, however this year’s has come bitter lines for the Fangon boss and lead singer Patrick Mulwana aka Alien Skin as the Frozen/Faded Artist of the Year.
Alien Skin, who has been making waves in the music industry since the COVID-19 lockdown, has been branded as the “Frozen” artist, a title that has left many in the industry surprised.
The Uncut Awards, which are televised ratings compiled by a team of entertainment journalists at Next Media Park, home of NBS and Sanyuka Television, recognize outstanding achievements in various categories.
Alien Skin’s ‘win’ comes as a surprise to many, especially considering that who were still jamming to his dancehall songs. However the failure to host the second edition of the Nkwacho Festival this year, an event that had generated significant buzz last year, in some points, creates more debate on whether the award is genuine or not.
Other winners at the Uncut Awards include Bobi Wine, who was named Man of the Year, Mama Fina, who took home the award for Woman of the Year, and Nobert Events, who was recognized as Promoter of the Year.
