A tragic incident has unfolded at Tembo Steel Factory in Iganga District, eastern Uganda, where a supervisor was found dead in a bathroom under mysterious circumstances.
The deceased, identified as Mr Jignesh Kumar Thakar Shashilkant, a 50-year-old Indian national, had shown no signs of illness or distress before his untimely death, according to sources within the factory.
“He looked energetic and healthy when he arrived at work, but I was shocked to hear that he had passed away in the bathroom,” an anonymous source from the factory reported.
According to the Busoga East Police spokesperson, Mr. Michael Kafayo, the lifeless body of Kumal Bakal was discovered by his subordinates after he failed to return from the bathroom following his shift.
Factory workers recounted how their supervisor had gone to freshen up after work, but when he did not re-emerge, they grew concerned.
After a thorough search, they found his body lying motionless inside the bathroom, sparking panic among the employees.
“It is true that an Indian national who was supervising work at the Tembo factory died in the bathroom where he had gone to take a bath after his shift,” Mr. Kafayo confirmed.
The police quickly responded to the scene and launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his sudden death.
The body was subsequently transported to Mulago National Referral Hospital in Kampala for a postmortem examination, which is expected to shed light on the cause of death.
By the time of reporting, the police had yet to receive the official postmortem results.
While the factory workers and the wider community await answers regarding Kumal Bakal’s mysterious passing, another shocking incident has rocked the region.
The police are investigating a deeply distressing case in which a woman allegedly strangled her five-month-old baby before attempting to take her own life.
The suspect, identified as Sarah Namusobya, a resident of Namungalwe Trading Centre in Namungalwe Town Council, is alleged to have committed the heinous act before consuming poison in an apparent suicide attempt.
Local residents, upon discovering the tragic scene, swiftly intervened and rushed Namusobya to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment.
She is currently receiving care under police guard and is expected to be transferred to police custody once her condition stabilizes.
Mr. Kafayo affirmed that investigations are underway to establish the motive behind the incident. “After her recovery, she will be interrogated to determine what led her to commit such a terrible act,” he stated.
Both incidents have left the local community in shock, with authorities working diligently to uncover the full details behind these unsettling occurrences.
The death of Kumal remains a mystery, and the police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Meanwhile, the tragic case involving Sarah Namusobya and her infant has drawn attention to the need for mental health awareness and support systems to prevent such devastating incidents in the future.
