Medard Lubega Ssegona, the Member of Parliament for Busiro East, has publicly addressed criticisms recently leveled against him regarding his alleged absence from the constituency.
In a spirited interview, Ssegona challenged his detractors to identify the specific places where they claim to be looking for him but failing to find him.
“I have one home in Nakasozi, Buddo, and that’s where I stay,” Ssegona declared, emphasizing his active presence and engagement in his community. He reassured constituents that the phone numbers he registered during his initial campaign for votes in 2011 remain active and available, underscoring his accessibility.
Responding to claims of being “lost,” Ssegona said, “In Parliament, where I was mandated to represent my people, I am always there. The leadership has no questions about my performance.”
He dismissed the negative talk as mere “street gossip” propagated by opportunists seeking to undermine his work that can significantly be seen by even the blind.
Looking ahead to the 2026 elections, Medard Lubega Ssegona confirmed his intention to run for re-election, citing significant “unfinished business” that requires his continued leadership.
“My constituents still want me there, and I am committed to advocating for their needs and interests,” he stated confidently, reaffirming his dedication to serving the people of Busiro East.
He noted that whoever feels strength, should come and face him man to man in Busiro East.
