A steamy morning at the notorious Sunrise Hotel took an unexpected turn when a raging fire erupted, sending half-dressed lovers fleeing for their lives.
The budget hotel, infamous for its no-questions-asked policy and good room rates, was packed with patrons indulging in discreet rendezvous when chaos struck.
According to eyewitnesses, the fire started in the morning.
Regardless of the cause, the result was the same—screams, smoke, and a frantic scramble down the dimly lit hallways.
“I was just getting into the mood when we heard people shouting ‘fire! fire!’” recounted a breathless client, still clutching his trousers. “I barely managed to grab my phone and wallet before running out.”
The fire spread rapidly, engulfing several rooms and sending plumes of black smoke billowing into the Kampala sky.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire, but one thing is certain—the Sunrise Hotel will be closed for repairs, and many of its patrons will be praying their names don’t appear in police reports.
As for those whose affairs were rudely interrupted, they may have to find new, less flammable venues for their escapades.
