Phaneroo Ministries International (PMI) has strongly refuted claims that it is obstructing the construction of the Uganda Heart Institute in Naguru.
The allegations, reportedly made by some Members of Parliament and government officials, suggest that PMI is hindering efforts to develop the crucial medical facility.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, PMI categorically denied the accusations, emphasizing its commitment to cooperation with government agencies.
The ministry stated that it has been actively engaged with physical planning authorities since April 2024 regarding the general development plan in Naguru, including the construction of the Heart Institute.
“We support Government programs, and our unequivocal commitment to the above project is documented and well known to all concerned stakeholders, including the Uganda Heart Institute, National Planning Authority, and Kampala Capital City Authority,” the statement read.
“Any claims to the contrary are false and amount to misinformation aimed at no good.”
PMI further distanced itself from any statements or actions that might suggest opposition to the Heart Institute’s development.
The ministry reiterated its dedication to the well-being of the community and affirmed its continued support for initiatives that serve the public interest.
The Uganda Heart Institute project is expected to enhance cardiac healthcare services in the country, and concerns over its progress have drawn significant public attention.
With Phaneroo Ministries denying involvement in any obstruction, the focus now shifts to government authorities and stakeholders to clarify the project’s status.
