Kampala City Council Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago last evening hosted hundreds of Muslim faithfuls to the annual KCCA Iftar Dinner at the Lord Mayor’s City Hall Gardens.
Addressing the faithfuls, the Chief Guest, Supreme Mufti Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi applauded the spirit of Unity at the Authority and called upon the City Leadership to strive to resolve the challenges of the City most especially the structural development which is in need planning.
The Lord Mayor thanked Allah for the gift of life following illness which necessitated him to undergo surgery in India and called on faithfuls to embrace the spirit of Ramadhan.
The KCCA Executive Director Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki called upon City residents to cooperate with the Authority in its programs to transform the City especially in the management of solid waste.
The Muslim faithfuls from Ndeeba Mosque in appreciation of the Lord Mayor’s tireless efforts in supporting the community secure their Mosque’s land handed over gifts to him.
Present at the occasion were Muslim Clerics ,City Political Leaders and Authority Technical teams amongst others.
