Equity Bank Uganda will be hosting its third event of the Bakyala Kuntiko empowerment in Iganga Town, Eastern Uganda.
Bakyala Kuntiko is a Luganda word translated as “Women to the Top”, an initiative aims to promote gender equity and support women in their journey toward leadership and financial independence.
This long awaited event will take place tomorrow, March 21, 2025, at the Musana Sol View Hotel from 9 AM to 4 PM.
“We are inviting all the women from the local community to participate in a day of inspiration, learning, and networking.” Barbra Among, the bank’s head of Communication said adding that Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in various activities, including workshops, panel discussions, and motivational talks, led by successful women in different fields.

The Iganga event follows the two successful sessions that have already happened in Kampala and Masaka cities. Abakyala Kuntiko series will happen across all regions of the country.
Speaking during the launch of this year’s transformative edition in Kampala, Gift Shoko the company Managing Director stated that Equity Bank’s commitment to empowering women is at the forefront of this initiative, aligning with its broader mission to enhance financial inclusion and uplift communities.
“The event seeks to provide women with the knowledge and skills necessary to overcome challenges and achieve their personal and professional goals.
