Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has appointed Mr. Francis Nyende as its new Marketing Manager. A seasoned marketing and innovation leader with a strong track record in East Africa’s Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, Nyende brings a wealth of experience in brand strategy, consumer insights, and business growth.
Nyende holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Statistics and an MBA, equipping him with a rare combination of data-driven decision-making and strategic marketing acumen.
His career began in finance and accounting, where he honed his analytical skills before transitioning into marketing leadership.
Most recently, Nyende served as Head of Innovations and Marketing Manager – Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), a subsidiary of Diageo. In these roles, he spearheaded successful product launches, brand repositioning, and market expansion strategies, delivering measurable commercial impact.
His expertise in consumer-led innovation and high-performing team leadership aligns with UTB’s mission to position Uganda as a premier global tourism destination.
Nyende’s recent completion of the “Journey to the Boardroom” program further solidifies his readiness for executive-level decision-making, making him a valuable asset in shaping Uganda’s tourism marketing strategy.
Expressing his enthusiasm for the new role, Nyende stated:
“I am excited to join UTB at such a pivotal time for Uganda’s tourism sector. My goal is to leverage data-driven marketing, innovative storytelling, and strategic partnerships to showcase Uganda’s unique offerings from our breathtaking national parks to our rich cultural heritage.”
Outside of work, Nyende is an avid tennis and golf enthusiast, reflecting his discipline and strategic thinking. His long-term aspiration is to lead transformative businesses, a vision that aligns with UTB’s growth ambitions.
