President Salva Kiir yesterday issued a decree Friday appointing the widow of South Sudan founding father Dr John Garang Rebecca Nyandeng de Mabior as vice president. Kiir dissolved the Transitional Government of National Unity and appointed new officials as part of forming the long awaited government of national unity. Police has blocked the planned second round of presidential consultations by Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine. The People Power Movement leader wrote to police seeking clearance to resume his consultations which were blocked last month in seven districts. The government will continue to roll out of the new curriculum for lower secondary school despite a resolution of Parliament halting the process. Rev Isaac Mwesigwa who was last week found in Soroti District in eastern Uganda days after he went missing, has been arrested by police in Kampala. “Police to take the Reverend Mwesigwa to Nakawa Court for giving false information,” Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed on Thursday.
