The African Centres for Disease Control (CDC) has allocated 2,000 vaccine doses to Uganda, aimed at immunizing up to 1,000 people against Mpox. Another vaccine, MVA*13N, is currently under emergency use licensure by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Drug Authority (NDA) in Uganda. The National Drug Authority (NDA) has arrested a man in Kasubi-Namungoona, just outside Kampala, for illegal possession of government-classified drugs. During the operation, led by NDA intelligence, authorities seized drugs labeled “Government of Uganda, not for sale.” Among the confiscated items were antiretroviral (ARVs) and antimalarial medications valued at over UGX 9 million.
