Yesterday, different opposition leaders and activists started a fundraising campaign aimed at saving some of the tortured Arua mayhem victims. The campaign started by famous Makerere University academician and activist Dr. Stella Nyanzi started two accounts for one Shaban Atiku and Night Asara who undergoing medication at Family Care Clinic in Arua town. Police in Luwero has rescued 16 children from being trafficked and unlawfully held by the proprietor of God’s Power Revival Church at Sinalya Hill, Kalule-Bombo in Luwero District. It is alleged that one Musinguzi Keefa, a self-proclaimed pastor and a resident of the same was holding the children unlawfully by disguising to teach them the word of God. Government spokesperson Mr. Ofwono Opondo has freely advised Ugandans to wait for the ballot paper if they are much interested in political dialogue. The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has called on government to support communities with alternative sources of energy saying this will reduce pressure on forests. Kadaga said that use of alternatives to charcoal and firewood will be a step to positive climate change. President Yoweri Museveni has held a bilateral discussion with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, with both leaders witnessing the signing of three agreements between their countries. The three pacts are; an agreement on economic and technical cooperation, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation within the framework of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road Initiative and finally an agreement  on emergency humanitarian assistance. Foreign affairs state minister Henry Okello Oryem has rebuked opposition politicians seeking to discredit government abroad and describing it as unpatriotic. Speaking to our Insider yesterday, Okello said that Uganda has moved a long journey that doesn’t deserve blackmail form its nationals.
