Uganda Development Bank (UDB), the country’s national Development Finance Institution, has launched the Incubator Program under Enterprise Development Product (EDP). The program is designed to prepare enterprises to become investor ready. The launch was announced during a press briefing held at Uganda Management Institute (UMI). The program will train an inaugural cohort of 291 enterprises across the country on management best practices, debt management, good governance, record keeping, and financial management among others. The General Court Martial in Makindye has for the third time dismissed the bail application for 28 supporters of the National Unity Platform (NUP) who facing trial of unlawful possession of ammunition. The seven member Panel of the Court chaired by Brigadier Robert Mugabe on Monday denied the supporters bail on grounds that they did not prove that they have fixed places of abode in the court’s jurisdiction. Eight Police officers attached to Kira-Police Division in Kira Municipality Wakiso District have been arrested for reportedly stealing sixty million shillings in exhibits. Parliament has endorsed an increase of its budget by Shs125b to cater for salaries, travel, per diem and operational costs in the offices of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Leader of Opposition and Government Chief Whip, the provision of which will see the institution’s budget hit the trillion mark. Robert Twinomujuni, a well-known businessman in the city, was accused of forging a land sale agreement in the southwest Ntungamo District and was sent to Luzira Prisons. Mr Twinomujuni, the owner of Ideal Hostels, was arrested and held at the Central Police Station (CPS) in Kampala. He was charged on Friday at Buganda Road Magistrate’s Court.
