The state has asked the court to deny bail to the daughters of murdered businessman Henry Katanga. Chief state Attorney Jonathan Muwanganya, told Justice Isaac Muwata of the Kampala High Court court that it is of no use to grant bail to Martha Nkwanzi and Patricia Kakwanza who are charged with destroying/removing valuable evidence, when police investigations are concluded and prosecution is ready for trial with witnesses. The Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, has revealed that government will table Bills this week aimed at providing for the rationalisation of agencies under four sectors of the country. The African Development Bank Group has announced a follow-up equity investment of $15 million in the Trade and Development Bank Group’s (TDB Group) pioneering Class C Green+ shares to support clean technology and low carbon projects in its member states. The new capital, to be sourced from the Clean Technology Fund (CTF) will also support the establishment of a project preparation facility to boost investment in clean technologies. The CTF, part of the Climate Investment Funds, provides resources to developing countries to scale up low-carbon technologies with significant potential for long-term greenhouse gas emissions savings.
