Last week, a team from the State House anti-corruption unit stormed Karenga district in the Karamoja sub-region, Northern Uganda. During this operation the district chairperson Lochaale Felix Mark was arrested over allegations of aiding the rehabilitation of a road that was already contracted. Uganda Development Bank (UDB) the country’s national development finance Institution has retained a National Long-term Rating of ‘AAA (uga)’ with a Stable Outlook, the highest attainable on Uganda’s national scale and reflects high support propensity by the government. Fitch Ratings has also affirmed UDB’s Long-Term Issuer Default Rating (IDR) at ‘B+’ with a Negative Outlook and UDB’s Government Support Rating (GSR) at ‘b+’. Equity Bank Uganda has selected 110 high-performing students from the 2023 Uganda National Examination Advance Certificate of Education for its Equity Leaders Program. This brings to a total of 333 students under the program. The program which is now in its 3rd cohort aims to develop and inspire young leaders through access to education plus mentorship and career training.
