Zambian police have denied a major opposition leader access to critical medical care two days after he was teargassed during a raid at his home, his lawyer said Wednesday. The death toll has risen to six out of dozens of victims rushed to Turkish hospitals after a chemical weapons attack in Syria that killed scores earlier this month, Health Minister Recep Ak Cdag said Friday. Kenya’s president Thursday signed a new anti-torture law that guarantees Kenyans freedom from torture, cruelty, and punishment. Officials say eight police officers in Tanzania have been ambushed and killed while returning from a patrol outside the commercial centre of Dar Es Salaam.
