MultiChoice Uganda through its CSR initiative has donated free decoders with a year’s subscription to ten charity homes in Jinja. The homes were in dire need of entertainment for those they rehabilitate. Parliament has authorised supplementary spending amounting to Shs 3.81 trillion for COVID-19 related interventions, stimulus packages for the economy, security interventions and other ongoing contractual obligations. The government in its request, stated one of major reasons for its demand for a supplementary was the decline in revenue collections of Shs 1.8 trillion due to the pandemic among others. Wakiso Giants FC player George Kaddu handed two month suspension from participating in all football matches and fined UGX1M. According to FUFA, Kaddu put the game into disrepute as he attacked the referee, slapped the referee’s cards and delayed to leave the field of play upon send off. Wakiso Giants FC official Mugabi Philip has also been fined UGX500,000 by FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel for breaching the FUFA Competitions rules. The week-long Women in Fintech Hackathon came to an end last Friday with Kuzimba Services, providers of online construction and engineering solutions being declared winners after shrugging off tough competition for the top prize.
