Members of Parliament have questioned the delayed completion of Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. The concerns were raised by the Chief Opposition Whip, Hon. John Nambeshe, during plenary on Thursday, 11 April 2024. In a significant move to bolster environmental conservation efforts in Ngora District, RSI has partnered with the Ngora District Local Government to support a district-wide tree-growing campaign. The initiative, aimed at combating climate change and enhancing biodiversity, saw RSI deliver and facilitate the planting of 4,000 seedlings across various communities in the district. Heavy rains over the weekend disrupted play during the much anticipated Stanbic Matchplay at the Entebbe Golf Club, one of Uganda’s oldest and most scenic golf courses. Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has requested Parliament for an extra UGX 169 billion to cater for the payment of wages of the newly recruited staff, despite the tax body failing to utilize all its wage bills for two consecutive years. The Police at Kira Road are investigating a murder by shooting that occurred on the evening of April 10th, 2024, in Kyebando Kisalosalo Zone, Kawempe Division, Kampala District. The deceased has been identified as Adaca Sabina, also known as Alele Francis, a 36-year-old driver with Khan Logistics and a resident of Kyebando Kisalosalo Zone. High Court presided over by Isaac Muwata on Tuesday denied bail to Molly Katanga, the jailed widow of slain businessman Henry Katanga. Ms Katanga had through her lawyers asked the court to release her on bail pending trial to enable her to undergo further treatment. The court has temporarily halted the sale of the multi-billion shilling property of businessman Mukesh Shukla. Bank of Baroda Uganda Limited was set to sell the property in an auction over a sh7.6b debt. The bank had issued a 30-day ultimatum to the businessman to clear the debt owed by his company, Shumuk Aluminium Industries Limited or its proceeds to sell the properties.
