The National Super Alliance has demanded access to the electoral commission’s servers as a condition to accepting the outcome of the presidential election. Police officer Gilbert Arinaitwe Bwana facing rape charges has been granted bail. According to the Professional Standards unit (PSU) spokesperson Vincent Ssekate the forensic department has already carried out an investigation in Arinaitwe’s where the alleged rape case is claimed to have been carried out. He adds that the file has been submitted to the state attorney for perusal and legal advice adding that the suspect has been given police bond pending conclusion of the investigation. Liverpool say that Brazilian midfielder Philippe Coutinho is “definitively” not for sale. On Wednesday, the Reds rejected a bid of 100 million euros (£90m) from Barcelona for the 25-year-old. National Super Alliance flag bearer Raila Odinga has said he is disappointed with international election observers over their view that Kenya polls were credible. Kenya’s electoral commission has warned the opposition that its claims of victory for its presidential candidate, Raila Odinga, could be deemed illegal. The opposition has published its own figures, putting Mr Odinga ahead of incumbent President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Police Professional Standards Unit (PSU) has arrested five police officers in Nansana and Wakiso for their alleged involvement in robberies in Nansana town council. The five officers whose identities have been withheld by police were picked up over the weekend together with two crime preventers identified as Ibrahim Tenywa and Safiq Kihumbi during operations led by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kale Kayihura. The suspects are being held on tentative charges of neglect of duty, extortion, conducting unlawful arrests, failure to protect their weapons and aggravated robbery. President Yoweri Museveni has paid tribute to veteran UPDF officer, Brig Geoffrey Taban Kyabihende who died last week. Speaking to the family members of the deceased soldier in Bunga, a Kampala suburb, Museveni described Taban as having contributed significantly to the struggle that liberated Uganda from tyranny. Brig Kyabihende 56 who at the time of his death was Uganda’s defense attaché in Democratic Republic of Congo died on Friday at Nakasero Hospital, due to natural causes according a UPDF statement.
