MTN Uganda has rewarded athlete Joshua Cheptegei for his recent exploits at the Diamond League meet in Monaco, where he set a new 5000 metres world record of 12:35.36, breaking Kenenisa Bekele’s 16-year old world record of 12:37.35. In recognition of this milestone, MTN Uganda has offered a cash prize of UGX 123, 536,000 and a telecommunication package of 12GB of data, 35 voice minutes and 36 SMS per month for twelve months. The Prime Minister has called on nations to make ambitious commitments to secure the planet for the next generation, as he addresses a UN Climate Action Roundtable hosted by the UN Secretary-General. Naome Kabasharira has spoken out on National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission (EC) chairperson Dr Fred Tanga Odoi’s declaration of junior labour minister Mwesigwa Rukutana as winner of Ntungamo District’s Rushenyi County NRM primary election. On September 23, exactly 19 days since NRM primaries happened across the country, party Tanga Odoi declared Rukutana the 2021 parliamentary flag bearer for Rushenyi County in Ntungamo District. Finance Minister Matia Kasaija Tuesday morning on behalf of Government signed Exchange of Notes with the Japanese Ambassador to Uganda, Kazuaki Kameda for providing to the Government of Uganda grant funds (USD 3.8 million) approx.UGX14 billion under the Economic and Social Development Program. Litigious lawyer Male Mabirizi has sued the East African Community secretary general, Amb. Libérat Mfumukeko over his recent press statement in which he accused him of misusing the Community’s emblem among other allegations. Mfumukeko has been sued by Mabirizi before the East African Court of Justice at the Kampala sub-registry. Mabirizi in his petition accuses the secretary general of having issued a press statement dated September 16, 2020, alleging that he (Mabirizi) was misusing the Community’s emblem, using derogatory language against the sitting President Yoweri Museveni and photographs of the justices of the East African Court to raise funds for personal purposes.…
