Parliament has granted its Committee on Legal and Parliamentary Affairs three months in which to consult and report on the Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2019, a move that narrowly caused drama as MPs defied the short time given. A process to censure Security Minister, Gen Elly Tumwine over alleged operation of ‘safe houses’ has been triggered by Parliament. Speaker Rebecca Kadaga wants government to implement the copyright law to benefit musicians who she says do not substantially benefit from their work.
