Parliament has directed the Ministry of Lands to present findings from a study visit to London which was meant to acquire the colonial maps of Uganda clearly state the borders of Tororo District. The visit to London was by a verification team of Members of Parliament from Tororo, Ministers and officials from the Lands Ministry.This followed the long standing dispute on the boundaries in Tororo district. Ugandan duo Esther and Ezekiel Mutesasira have won the East African Got Talent championship held in the Kenyan capital Nairobi. The 10-week journey came to its close on Sunday. Out of the six acts on the finals, Uganda had three groups, Kenya had two groups and Rwanda had one group which gave Uganda a higher chance of taking it home. The Minister for Health, Dr Ruth Aceng has said that medical interns are not entitled to a salary. Presenting a statement to Parliament on the actions taken on the prayers contained in the petition by the federation of medical interns, Aceng said that Medical interns are not civil servants because they have not been recruited through the formal recruitment system. “Interns are still undergoing apprenticeship training, after which, those who qualify can register as a health workers and obtain a practicing licensing in order to be able to apply for formal recruitment, “she said.
