Minister for presidency Hon. Esther Mbayo has said that Uganda has made a lot of progress in responding to the burden of HIV and AIDS over the last four decades. Parliament has approved the creation of Terego district in accordance with Article 179(A) of the constitution. Out of the 243 lawmakers present, there were five abstentions and two who voted against while 236 voted for the creation of the new district during the plenary sitting on 05 May 2020 chaired by the Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga. Today, the Danish Government as represented by the Danish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Nicolaj A. Hejberg Petersen has donated a total of 14,500,000DKK (Fourteen million and five hundred thousand Danish Kronner) equivalent to 6,004,500,000/= (Six billion, four million and five hundred thousand Uganda Shillings) towards the fight against COVID 19 in Uganda. The UK today confirmed that it will be the largest supporter of the international alliance to vaccinate children against deadly diseases, saving millions of lives.
