Its human, however much one may let things go, the instincts of jealousy, backbiting and envy may take quite along time to disappear from a man’s mind. November last year, the Sitya loss hit maker Eddy Kenzo accepted one big forfeiture that still vibrates in his head like producer Washington’s soundtracks. From the day COVID 19 Quarantine and lockdown kicked off, Rema and Dr. Hamza Sssebunya have been lighting up social media like Jayz and Beyonce, even that Kenzo should not know soon! Here are some of the Photos .
Ugandans have responded to a call by the Uganda Red Cross society and have contributed shs21.9million towards the society’s efforts in the fight against the COVID 19 pandemic. Fellow Ugandans and development partners, On behalf of the Inter-Religious Council of Uganda Council of Presidents, I greet you all in the name of the Almighty God! Fellow Ugandans, with the onset of the global COVID 19…
Opposition figure Kizza Besigye says he will not donate to the national taskforce on Covid19 because he does not trust it. “I will not donate to things I do not trust,” Besigye said Wednesday morning while appearing on NBS television. “We should have a legal and institutional framework everyone trusts and relates to.” According to Besigye, Ugandans are very generous people except that they have nothing to give. “What you are seeing now as giving must be questioned. A lot of it is some form of corruption, they are buying favour.” He said President Museveni wanted to use the crisis…
The Stanbic Purchase Managers Index (PMI) survey report for April shows there was deterioration in business conditions following the lockdown that started on 24th March 2020. The lockdown was brought in to try and prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Uganda. The headline PMI registered 21.6 in April, down from 45.3 in March and the lowest reading since the survey began in June 2016. Deteriorating business conditions have now been signalled for two consecutive months. Company closures, a lack of new orders and restrictions on travel were highlighted as having the biggest impact on business. Stanbic…
The current pandemic won’t be the last the world faces. And while it is functionally too late for the United States to do anything but fight its way through the coronavirus crisis, it can start to look for examples of better ways to deal with the next one. Those ways can be found in East Africa. It’s easy to look toward South Korea and Taiwan for examples. High-tech societies — with a cultural bias toward such transmission-blocking behaviors as wearing masks, a history of strong direction by central governments, and the resources to deploy testing and contact tracking on a massive scale — have been highly…
Speaker Rebecca Kadaga ordered Internal Affairs Minister Gen Jeje Odongo to explain the alleged torture and mistreatment of Mityana Municipality MP, Hon Francis Zaake. “The Minister should come here on Thursday to explain to the House the situation of Hon Zaake; Hon Zaake has been arrested on four occasions and on all these occasions he has been badly beaten,” she said. MP Theodore Ssekikubo (NRM, Lwemiyaga) joined in, blaming government for what he said is an elaborate ploy to weaken the Legislature. “Under no circumstances should an MP be tortured, brutalized for only one thing-that he was distributing food. Today…
Kenya Health Minister Mutahi Kagwe has on Tuesday, May 5, announced that the COVID-19 cases had risen to 535 after 45 cases tested positive in the last 24 hours. Kenya has registered over 120 coronavirus infections in the last four days. Six were discharged after recovering bringing the total number of recoveries to 173. “We must observe social distancing. We must continue to wash our hands frequently. We call on you to stay at home and only go out when it is absolutely necessary. We have also noted there are vendors who continue to allow people to fit more than one…
Someone seems to have assured Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga that she is the one who invented Parliament and has an eternal patent thereto; or she is the owner thereof and everyone therein, complete with a Certificate of Title. Oh, how the illusions of fleeting power do flatter! But it’s only communists who begin with the conclusion; so let’s start at the beginning. We’ve had quite some jesting in the Uganda Law Society (ULS) lately, but one incident easily takes the cake. Someone passed around a “Certificate of Incompetence” prima facie issued by ULS to Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga…
Kawaala Based City Pastor Yiga August has been released on bail after spending one month & 7days in Kitalya gov’t prison.
