The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah, has asked Ugandans to devote themselves to environment protection, saying it takes only commitment. Seasoned politician and former presidential aspirant Dr. Kiiza Besigye has warned the government of China against what he described as illegal deals with the Pearl of Africa. The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has directed parliamentary forums to desist from organizing events that clash with House business because it affects members’ attendance of Plenary and Committees. Kadaga threatened to take action against the forums, which have now ended up competing with House committees for members. A woman who used various false identities to gain access to Nigeria’s presidential complex to allegedly run business scams has been arrested. The secret service said Amina Mohammed initially posed as Kogi state’s first lady to gain entry to the presidential villa in the capital, Abuja. She then allegedly invited people to the villa making them believe it was at the invitation of the president’s wife.
