Two Ugandan teachers were shot dead in South Sudan on 26 May 2019. The duo from Kasese and Bushenyi districts were teachers of Hope and Resurrection Secondary School in Atiaba, Western Lake State of South Sudan. Members of the ex-gay community in Uganda want the anti-homosexuality law 2014 re-tabled in Parliament. Mukono Chief Magistrate Juliet Hantanga has ordered for the arrest of Uganda’s ambassador to Burundi, Maj Gen (rtd) Matayo Kyaligonza and his bodyguards on charges of assault and obstruction of a police officer on duty.
